Alice Forsberg defines herself as a "hardcore fan" of BTS, the most famous boy band in K pop. This overwhelming passion for this band, and one of its members in particular, is the driving force in her work. Indeed, her idolatry made her seize the iconography developed for their promotion but also, from a more general point of view, everything related to South Korea and East Asia. Thus, from this musical fantasy a wider one is born, encompassing everything to which it can be linked. Feeding on Asian mythology, fantasy tales and Korean romances, Alice writes her way into the story of her idol Kim Tae-hyung. Mixing the plot of her favorite series Hwarang, in which Kim plays one of the main roles, Alice takes the place of one of the princesses to live her love. Declining her identity under the features of Princess Rina, in the manner of a Chinaski, she appears to hold the fantasy place she would like to live one day.Between myth and reality, Alice has chosen not to choose but to blur the boundaries, to decentralize the story, to use anachronisms and any tool allowing her to shape a virtual reality that she allows us to live in everyday life.Alice also revisits Japanese prints by incorporating elements of kawaii, manga or her Western culture with which she mixes genres. Samurais are transformed into knights of K pop with huge blue eyes, like statuettes of angels; couples become the image of the couple that she would form with Kim. Her limitless universe, supported by a free approach to painting, is of a rarely equaled audacity.

Alice Forsberg se définit comme une “hardcore fan” du groupe BTS, le plus célèbre boys band de K pop. Cette passion débordante pour ce groupe, et un de ses membres en particulier, est son premier moteur de travail. En effet, son idolâtrie lui a fait s’emparer de l’iconographie développée pour leur promotion mais aussi, d’un point de vue plus général, de tout ce qui a trait à la Corée du Sud et à l’Asie. Ainsi de ce fantasme musical en naît un plus large, englobant tout ce à quoi il peut être lié.Se nourrissant de mythologie asiatique, de contes fantastiques et de romances coréennes, Alice réécrit l'histoire de son idole Kim Tae-hyung dans laquelle elle vient s’immiscer. Mélangeant la trame de sa série préférée Hwarang, dans laquelle Kim joue un des rôles principaux; Alice prend la place d’une des princesses pour y vivre son amour. Déclinant ainsi son identité sous les traits de la princesse Rina, à la manière d’un Chinaski,  celle-ci apparaît pour y tenir la place fantasmée qu’elle aimerait vivre un jour.Entre mythe et réalité, Alice a choisi de ne pas choisir mais au contraire de flouter les frontières, de décentrer le récit, d’user d’anachronismes et de tout outil lui permettant de façonner une réalité virtuelle qu’elle nous permet de vivre au quotidien. Alice revisite aussi  les estampes japonaises en y incorporant des éléments kawaï, de manga ou de sa culture occidentale avec laquelle elle mélange les genres. Les samouraïs se transforment en preux chevaliers de la K pop  aux yeux bleus démesurés, à la façon des statuettes d’ orants; les couples deviennent l’image de son couple qu’elle formerait avec Kim. Son univers sans limites, soutenu par une peinture très libre de facture, est d’une audace rarement égalée.
