Le travail de Sidoline est directement lié au réseau social et à son image personnelle, souvent intime et toujours pensée pour se présenter d’une façon qui correspond aux codes et standards en cours. Cette image et ses codes servent un but clair dans le cadre d’un post. Sidoline cherche à déjouer ce but, à le dévier afin d’emmener l’image sociale vers l’image picturale.

 

Rejoignant Francis Bacon dans son protocole de travail et sa volonté de se défaire d’une simple description, l’image est ici le sujet d’une réinterprétation ainsi que d’une appropriation personnelle de son sujet. La personne représentée, comme dans les peintures de Bacon, n’a plus pour vocation d’être elle-même dans son propre jeu de représentation sociale. Elle est autre. Dépassant la question de la personnalité, de l’entité pour aller chercher un propos en peinture, elle a désormais pour but le jeu de la représentation picturale. Délaissant le champ du “public” et la question du paraître, Sidoline entend amener sa peinture à réinvestir le champ du privé et de nouveau aborder cette question existentielle du être.

Sidoline's work is directly linked to the social network and her personal image, which is often intimate and always designed to present herself in a way that corresponds to current codes and standards. This image and its codes serve a clear purpose in the context of a post. Sidoline seeks to subvert this goal, to divert it in order to take the social image towards the pictorial image.

 

Joining Francis Bacon in his working protocol and his desire to break away from simple description, the image is here the subject of a reinterpretation and a personal appropriation of its subject. The person represented, as in Bacon's paintings, is no longer intended to be himself in his own game of social representation. They are something else. Going beyond the question of personality and entity to seek a purpose in painting, their aim is now the game of pictorial representation. Leaving behind the public sphere and the question of appearances, Sidoline intends to take her painting back into the private sphere and once again tackle the existential question of being.
